A film about the founding story of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), which was founded in 2004 by Turkish entrepreneurs, was shown in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The film “Line of the Past”, which tells the story of the establishment of the university, was shown at the IUS, which is owned by the Sarajevo Education Development Foundation (SEDEF).

The presentation was attended by SEDEF, IUS officials, officials from Turkish institutions in BiH, and students.

SEDEF President Hasan Topaloglu and Head of the Visual Arts Department of IUS Mehmet Yasir Göz made statements to AA reporter before the program.

Topaloglu said, “We will watch the movie ‘The Line of the Past’, which tells the story of the establishment of the IUS, which started in the late 1990s, obtained permission to establish in 2003, and started accepting students in 2004. I wish everyone a good time.” He said.

Free IUS training certificate for Benjamin who sells tea to earthquake victims

As part of the program, 12-year-old Benjamin Mihanović is selling tea in the Dobrenja district of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to give his income to those affected by the Kahramanmaraş earthquake that occurred on February 6. He gets a certificate so he can get a free education at the IUS when he reaches college age.

Stating that they wanted to reward Benjamin for his contributions to the earthquake victims, Topaloglu said, “Benjamin raised money by selling tea on the street and sending it to the earthquake victims. We wanted to reward this meaningful step.” He said.

Benjamin also mentioned that he sent about 2000 thousand euros in cash aid to the earthquake victims, which he collected by selling tea, expressing his happiness at receiving the free education certificate from the IUS.
