On this day, which is the most important national holiday for the Kosovo Turks, the reception was hosted by the Minister of Regional Development of Kosovo and Chairman of the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (KDTP) Vikrim Damca, the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and Europe. Speaking at the ceremony, which began with the singing of the national anthems of the two countries, Prime Minister Kurti said that the Turkish community in Kosovo is an integral part of the country’s rich social and cultural mosaic.

Kurti stated that he is proud of Kosovo’s tradition of multilingualism and said, “The Turkish community in Kosovo has played an important role in our recent history. In the institutions of our republic, together with the representatives of the Turkish community, we contribute to the improvement of Kosovo and to higher prosperity. In his speech, Deputy Foreign Minister Bozay conveyed the congratulations and greetings of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

Bozay stressed that Turkey will continue to support the development of Kosovo in all fields with all its institutions, although only 15 years have passed since its independence, Kosovo has emerged as a strong democracy and a growing economy in the heart of the Balkans. Referring to the solidarity shown by the people of Kosovo over the catastrophe of the earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, Bozai continued as follows:
