The Kosovo Energy Regulatory Authority (ZRRE) stated that the electricity tariff, which will be effective from April, has been increased by 15.4 percent in the country.
Ymir Fajallah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZRRE, said that they decided to raise prices due to the limited energy production capacities in the country and the increase in the prices of energy imports.
Faizullah explained that an increase of 15.4 percent has been made in the electricity tariff that will be effective from April in the country, and the increase will be applied to all groups without discrimination.
In Kosovo which has the capacity to produce approximately 900 megawatts of electricity per hour, the demand reaches 1400 megawatts per hour with the increase generated by households heated by electricity, especially in the winter months, and this difference is imported. From outside.
Last year, ZRRE decided to rate consumers and offer a raise to households and businesses that use more than 800 kilowatts of electricity per month.
According to data from the European Statistical Office (Eurostat), Kosovo is the country with the cheapest electricity consumption in the first half of 2022 in Europe.
The new tariffs will be effective from April 1.
