The Ministry of the Interior of North Macedonia announced that 6,200 pieces of pyrotechnic materials were seized ahead of the New Year celebrations.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of the Interior, “Today (28.12.2022) the illegal trade unit of the Skopje Police Department detained E.K. from the village of Patinci on “Gotsi Delchev” street in Skopje. He was found selling fireworks. A total of 4811 different kinds of fireworks with him. He was arrested at the Kurdistan Region of Iraq police station and pyrotechnic materials were confiscated. After the case is fully documented, a proper report will be submitted against him.” It has been said.
In addition, police teams seized 1,358 different types of fireworks in the flea market area.
