Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who is on an official visit to Japan, said they will work with Japan to tighten sanctions against Russia.
Rama announced that Albania, which is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, would cooperate with Japan in drafting a Security Council resolution against Russia.
Holding a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Rama said they are honored to play an active role in the Security Council with Japan.
Rama, who is also critical of China here, said that China’s cooperation platform with Central and Eastern Europe has no economic benefits, but they will remain in the group in order to maintain dialogue with Beijing.
Rama is expected to visit Hiroshima on Friday, where he will lay a wreath at the memorial to the atomic bomb victims during World War II.
