Turkey’s Ambassador to Zagreb Yavuz Selim Kiran met with Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grelic Radman and some diplomatic representatives in the country for breakfast.
The Iftar program at the embassy headquarters in the capital, Zagreb, hosted by Kiran, began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
In his speech here, Glick Radman thanked the ambassador for his invitation and said, “We appreciate such events in order to feel the spirit of sharing and unity in Ramadan. No matter what religion we believe in, we understand the deep meaning of Ramadan.” He said.
Kiran also stated that Croatia is a country where different religions live together and shared the information that nearly 50 thousand Muslims reside in the country.
Expressing their grief in Ramadan due to the earthquakes that hit Kahramanmaraş on February 6 this year, Kiran reminded that Croatia sent a search and rescue team to the earthquake area and also provided humanitarian aid worth 5 million euros.
Jordan Grelic Radman and more than 40 diplomats who attended the breakfast had the opportunity to sample different flavors of Turkish cuisine.
Kiran met Muslim, Christian and Jewish clerics at an iftar dinner last night.
