UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated that they fully believe that bilateral relations with Turkey will develop better in the future.
Al Nahyan, who went to Abu Dhabi as part of his Gulf tour, received President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his accompanying delegation at an official ceremony at Qasr Al Watan.
After the welcome, Al Nahyan gave a short speech and said:
I would like to emphasize with your presence the importance of developing historical relations. I fully believe that our bilateral relations will develop better in the future as well.
The UAE considers Turkey the main partner, especially in trade, technology, energy, security and food. Last year, our non-oil trade volume improved by 40 percent. We aim to reach $40 billion in the next five years.”
Pointing out that Turkey is closely following developments in the region and that it is the responsibility of the two countries to support these developments in a positive way, Al Nahyan said: “I would like to confirm that we, as an Emirati country, are pleased that relations between Turkey and Egypt have been raised to the level of embassies.” He said.
Describing the rapprochement between Ankara and Cairo as an important development for the entire region, Al Nahyan indicated that his country supports all initiatives that would lead to peace and stability in the world and in the region.
Noting that they attach importance to Turkey’s active participation in the COP 28 climate conference scheduled to be held in Dubai in November, Al Nahyan stated that they can offer joint solutions on climate and the environment in order to protect the world for future generations.
Al Nahyan expressed his happiness at meeting President Erdogan.

Al Nahyan indicated that they discussed strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and Turkey, and advancing economic and development cooperation for the benefit of their peoples, and stated that they discussed the importance of building positive developments to support peace, stability and prosperity for the benefit of the people.
