Armed attackers tried to storm the building of Top Channel, one of the country’s most watched television channels, in Tirana, the capital of Albania.
A security guard was killed as a result of gunfire by the attackers.
After the attack, which took place at night, the SUV used by the attackers was found burned on a nearby highway. Two Kalashnikovs were also found inside the vehicle, which were found to have been stolen in Shkodra.
Albanian President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama issued statements condemning the automatic weapon attack on the Top Channel building.
The police are trying to find the attackers by examining the security camera recordings.
