Balkans | Bosnian Leader Besirovic: Bosnia and Herzegovina is moving unceasingly towards NATO

Denis Besirovic, a Bosnian member of the Presidency Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said his country is moving “non-stop” towards NATO.

Beserovic, who met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels, made remarks about his country’s NATO membership process after the meeting.

Pointing out that he made his first foreign visit to Brussels after being elected as a Bosnian member of the Presidency Council, Beserović stressed that this visit has strategic and symbolic importance.

Commenting on his country’s path to NATO membership, Bešerović said: “I will do everything I can to ensure that Bosnia and Herzegovina joins NATO and the European Union as soon as possible. These are our strategic goals. After our meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg today, I have positive and encouraging news for all The people of our country. Bosnia and Herzegovina is not alone and is moving unceasingly towards NATO. Today, I told the NATO Secretary General that I will do everything in my power to ensure that Bosnia and Herzegovina joins NATO as soon as possible. ” Use phrases.

Reaction of Serbian leader Dodik to Bešerović

Milorad Dodik, the president of Republika Srpska, one of the two entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, responded to Beserovic’s remarks to NATO in a statement to the Srina news agency.

Dodik said: “It is disturbing that the NATO leaders decided on this format of the meeting, ignoring the fact that only one member of the Presidency Council cannot express his views and cannot represent Bosnia and Herzegovina unless there is an agreement on this issue.” He said.

Dodik stressed that “Bosnia and Herzegovina did not join NATO and this is a position known to the Republika Srpska,” and added: “None of what Beserovic mentioned succeeded in passing the Presidency Council, and it cannot pass. All the ‘good news’ that Beserovic sends from Brussels is only good for whom They have political views like him. This is not good news for Bosnia and Herzegovina as long as Republika Srpska is involved.” He said.
