“Bulgaria wants to deepen traditionally good cooperation with Germany in the fields of education, science and innovation,” Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov said in a meeting with Irene Blank, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sofia.
The Prime Minister highlighted a number of positive examples of the fruitful interaction of German investors with secondary schools and higher education institutions in Bulgaria. The government stands ready to encourage this dialogue so that more German companies can immediately learn about the possibilities of such cooperation. The goal is to have more programs in Bulgaria that contribute to the quality of education and the business world to provide qualified professionals.
Ambassador Blank welcomed the active interaction not only in the field of education and science, but also in the field of security and defense. The German side expressed its desire to obtain an accredited military attache at the Sofia Embassy. Academician Denkov emphasized that Bulgaria intends to increase its defense investment to 2% of GDP, which is the target set by NATO.
The government plans to develop the military-industrial complex to contribute to the overall economic growth of the European Union.
