During his meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro, Daniela Djurovic, who visited our country, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said: “Montenegro has a major role in the European perspective of the Western Balkans, so Bulgaria will continue its efforts towards full membership in the European Union as an example for the entire region. It will continue to support its reforms.” .
During the meeting held at the presidency, the two sides highlighted the friendly relations and active high-level political dialogue between the two countries, which are bound by deep cultural and historical ties. The common opinion expressed at the meeting was that this was an excellent basis for deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest. In the first ten months of 2022, a positive trajectory was observed in the volume of trade between the two countries, as it recorded a growth of 106 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. During the meeting, industrial production, tourism, information technology, security and military education were identified as promising areas for bilateral cooperation.
Daniela Djurovic expressed her satisfaction with the expert and political support that Bulgaria has provided to Montenegro on its way to the European Union. The President of Bulgaria and the Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro agreed that excellent institutional cooperation should continue regardless of the pace of political processes in both countries.
