Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Tourism Irina Georgieva attended the 10th Air Arabia Summit, which was held in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. The forum addressed the challenges faced by the aviation and tourism sectors and their importance in the development of sustainable tourism. The initiative was implemented, with the support of Arab governments, in partnership with the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.
In her speech, Deputy Minister Georgieva conveyed the special greetings of the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism to the guests and delegates who attended the summit.
Georgieva emphasized that the success of Middle Eastern countries in the field of innovation and the vision of sustainability for the sector cannot be denied, and the aviation and tourism sectors must work hand in hand in building the bridge that crosses borders and connects people.
According to the deputy minister’s statement, passenger transportation, which includes airlines, airports, trains, ships and other means of transportation, is part of the overall tourism ecosystem and one of the main factors for the successful development of tourism in the regions. Georgieva said: “The success of the transport sector, especially airlines, means the success of tourism and vice versa. For this reason, the continuation of our active joint work is of great importance.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism has had a successful dialogue in recent years with representatives of transport associations, individual carriers and airport operators, as well as other interested parties, where they discuss current problems and future development opportunities to improve connectivity, because good connectivity means stability. Bulgaria is positioned as a good logistics hub with great potential for strategic partnerships with third countries. Pointing out that Bulgaria has an impressive infrastructure in terms of connection to any point in Europe, the Deputy Minister said, “However, efforts can always be made to improve the quality of tourism services, increase passenger flow and frequency of flights.”
Georgieva stated that Bulgaria has a great desire to develop the inbound tourist market among the countries of the Middle East, to promote Bulgaria as a destination throughout the year that contains the palette of colors and experiences necessary for all seasons to obtain high-quality tourism services in the palm of your hand, and stressed that the opportunities we offer are many and that more Collaborative work in this direction will come. The Deputy Minister said: “We offer great opportunities for cultural tourism, balneology, spas, eco-tourism and gastronomic. Bulgaria is a small country, but we are proud of our rich cultural heritage, which is the third largest in Europe.
