The head of the Association for Solidarity with Turkish Migrants in Kirklareli Balkans, Erol Ates, called on dual nationals living in Turkey to the polls as part of the early general elections scheduled to be held in Bulgaria on April 2.
The head of the Association for Solidarity with Turkish Migrants in Kirklareli Balkans Erol Ates told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they are still treated as second-class citizens in Bulgaria, so elections are important for dual nationals living in Turkey.
Reminding that there will be 5 elections in Bulgaria in two and a half years, Ates said, “Let’s blow up these ballot boxes on April 2, fill them up, so let’s not give up. There is fatigue among our dual citizens, but maybe that’s what is needed. Let’s do the opposite. We won’t.” We lose nothing by spending our 15 minutes there, on the contrary, we gain. We know the difficulties and the problems very well. Families need to instill this awareness in their children who have just turned 18. Because if we leave, it will only get worse, I think.” He said.
Ates stressed the importance of managing democracy by going to the polls to change the issues being complained about.
Asking voters to support the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (HÖH) party, which is expected to be the third largest authority in the new parliament according to polls, he said:
“The MRF is completely unified. In all his speeches, we will definitely unite and share our experience with you,” Chairman of the Board Mustafa Karaday said. Participation is important not only in Turkey, but all over the world where there are ballot boxes. In Bulgaria, these elections are even more important. Why is this choice important? It is important that we can increase the number of MPs and enter the coalition. So it should not be left blank. Because we can predict what might happen.”
Ates stated that they believe that the turnout in the early general elections in Bulgaria, which will include 21 political parties and coalitions, will be very high.
