Balkans | Children from Bosnia and Herzegovina sent their photos to the earthquake victims

Children from Bosnia and Herzegovina have sent photos they took to support the victims of the Kahramanmaraş earthquake.

While the aid parcels sent to the warehouse on the campus of Sutsu Emam University in Afshar were being sorted for those affected by the earthquakes on February 6, pictures drawn by children were found in the parcel sent from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Relief teams had emotional moments when they saw pictures of Turkish, Bosnian and Herzegovinian flags, hearts and flowers, which were made by students and handed out by their teachers.

Huseyin Kashkas, director of the Sakarya Avad region, who works in Kahramanmaraş, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that aid came to the quake zone from many parts of the world.

Expressing that some help made them feel very emotional, Kashkash said:

Children from Bosnia and Herzegovina have sent their photos to support the earthquake victims. They sent the games. Our children reflected their feelings with the pictures they took of their siblings who survived the earthquake. Painted in the pictures are the flags of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey and hearts. Some took notes. When we see these, we get emotional too.”

He thanked the children from Bosnia and Herzegovina who had sent pictures to their peers in Turkey. Meaningful help was still coming from within the country, Kaskas said. “Yesterday, a girl sent her little purse and there was money she had saved in it. So we handed it over to one of our children in the city of tents.” He said.

He stated that pictures and toys from Bosnia and Herzegovina will be distributed to children living in tent cities.
