Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has sent a congratulatory message to Jakov Milatović, who won the presidential elections in Montenegro on April 2.
In the statement made by the European Now Party, of which Milatović is one of the founders, it was expressed in Erdogan’s congratulatory message that he wishes Turkey and Montenegro to further consolidate the momentum that it has gained in bilateral relations in recent years.
Stating that Montenegro will contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in the Balkans under Milatović’s presidency, President Erdoğan wished Milatović success in his new mission.
The Montenegro State Election Commission (DIK) announced that in the second round of the presidential elections held on April 2, Milatović received 58.88 percent of the votes and incumbent President Milo Djukanovic received 41.12 percent of the votes.
