Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Sofia Viktor Timirbayev discussed the possibilities of activating economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Economy and Industry, it was understood that one of the areas of interaction is the production of green hydrogen. “Bulgaria has all the requirements to become a regional leader in green hydrogen production,” the minister noted.
During the talks, it was understood that the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation is expected to hold a meeting. “A lot of time has passed since the previous meeting and it’s time to discuss future priority sectors for interaction,” said Bogdanov. In addition, it is planned to organize a business forum within the committee with the participation of representatives of companies from both countries.
The Minister and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan also discussed the possibilities of increasing trade between countries, as well as developing transport infrastructure, diversifying the supply of energy resources, etc. They also discussed sectors of common interest. Bogdanov pointed out that Bulgaria is one of the largest producers of raw copper materials and stressed that our goal is to grow in supply chains and thus participate in the production of electric vehicle units. The minister also presented the newest industrial park in Dobroslavtsi, which will be the first organized industrial park focused on the automotive sector in our country.
“It is very important that our two countries have a good political dialogue, but it is equally important that we have a good basis for economic cooperation,” Bogdanov said.
Ambassador Temirbayev described Bulgaria as an important economic partner of Kazakhstan and explained that there is a lot of unrealized potential in the economic relations between the two countries.
