Balkans | Corti: Attacking anything other than Serbs reveals its purpose

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has held a meeting with the ambassadors of the five countries and the head of the European Union office in Kosovo, in the wake of attacks by Serb demonstrators in the north of the country against the Kosovo police, the Kosovo Force and members of the press.

According to a statement issued by the Kosovo government, Kurti indicated that those involved in the violence were not peaceful demonstrators, but a bloc of extremists controlled by Belgrade.

Kurti said that masked extremists attacking everything that is not Serb reveals the purpose of violence and these acts deserve the strongest condemnation.

Corti expressed the need to de-escalate the situation, and said he was ready to work with Dole Quint to achieve this goal.

Serbia: “Balkan striker Kurti tried to set fire to the entire region”

Petar Petković, director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo, said that those responsible for yesterday’s incident in Zvecan were Prime Minister Albin Kurti and KFOR members who tried to help the mayor enter City Hall instead of protecting Serbs.

Speaking to Radio Television Serbia (RTS), Petkovic said, “The Balkan arsonist Kurti tried to set fire not only in Kosovo but the entire region yesterday.”

Petković stated that the Serbs never wanted to clash with the KFOR, and claimed that Corti was the party that wanted conflict.
