The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, stated that the Republic of Kosovo has a place in the Council of Europe because it is built on European values and respect for minorities.
Speaking at the first meeting of the Coordination Group for the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the Council of Europe, Prime Minister Kurti noted that membership gives access to the International Court of Human Rights and this enhances the protection of all citizens without discrimination.
Curti said: “The Council of Europe embodies human rights values like our country. The Republic of Kosovo has been built on the values of the Council of Europe, and it is only natural that minority rights have a place in this organization. This provides access to the court and enhances the indiscriminate protection of our citizens. The Republic of Kosovo has also fulfilled the legal requirements to become a member of the Council of Europe.
