Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti held a meeting of the Security Council in the morning after yesterday the Serbian security forces kidnapped 3 border police officers.
Prime Minister Kurti, following the meeting, held a press conference with Interior Minister Slal Svechla.
Pointing out that there was no arrest in Serbia, but a kidnapping in Kosovo, Corti said, “KFOR and Kosovo Police were on the scene. Footprints were found in the direction of Serbia. Plastic handcuffs were also found. Well, if we find plastic handcuffs a kilometer from the territory of Kosovo, how can this be an arrest in Serbia?
Kurti also stated that he could not understand the international community’s silence on Serbia’s actions, and said: “Last night, I had a phone call with Gabriel Escobar, the US special envoy for the Western Balkans, and Jeff Hovenier, the US ambassador to Kosovo, regarding the security situation. I told them that The International Security Force in Kosovo should prepare an assessment before the Security Council meeting today at 7 a.m. However, we have not received any response.”
