Erciyes stressed that Turkey will always continue to support the struggle of the Turkish minority in Western Thrace in order to protect their rights arising from international law, and noted that after the disaster of the earthquake in Turkey, there was a calm and positive atmosphere in Turkish-Greek relations.

Erciyes expressed his hope that this process would allow all problems between the two countries to be resolved, and that he hoped that the problems faced by the Turkish West Thrace minority would also be resolved within this framework.
