Balkans | France and Germany are calling for an easing of tensions in northern Kosovo

Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti received French Ambassador to Pristina Olivier Giraud and German Deputy Ambassador to Pristina Matthias Konrad.

The meeting focused on the latest developments in the three municipalities in the north of the country after the first day of the new mayors, and the violence perpetrated by extremist Serb groups against KFOR soldiers, Kosovo police and journalists. It was agreed that it was essential that tensions not escalate in the north.

Prime Minister Kurti briefed the diplomatic representatives of France and Germany on the high professionalism and sensitivity of the Kosovo police in the north in carrying out their duties and overseeing the situation.
