Balkans | Gifts from BiH children to their peers in earthquake zones

Children living in Bosnia and Herzegovina sent packages of gifts to their peers in Hatay, where buildings were destroyed in the earthquakes that were the epicenter of Kahramanmaraş. The aid distributed by the Orphan Foundation to the Beykoz volunteers puts a smile on the faces of the earthquake victims.

Families whose homes were destroyed in the earthquakes that killed thousands of people settled in Kahramanmaraş in the Kirkhan district in the tent city established by the Beykoz Municipality in the district stadium. Children Living in Bosnia and Herzegovina has prepared 7,000 gift packages for children of all ages like them. The parcel was sent to Türkiye by air.

Orphan Foundation Beykoz Volunteers received 500 gift packages that were brought to Reyhanlı Logistics Center. The parcels brought to the tent city were distributed to the children after the truck was unloaded by the volunteers. The children, who received the parcels on which items belonging to the age group were marked, felt great pleasure.

Arif Qeshmaz, head of the Beykoz Foundation for Volunteers, which also provides psychosocial support to children affected by the earthquake, noted that they have been in the area since the first day of the earthquake. Kaçmaz said, “First of all, we would like to thank all our nation for their help. Here, we distribute gift packages prepared by children of all age groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina in their homes and schools. As an orphan institution, we wanted to realize a joint project with Beykoz Municipality. Needs in The area is not finished. We ask all our employees to continue helping. In particular, we recommend that they volunteer physically in order to deliver it to the villages and people in the corner. We are sure that the help will continue. Similarly, we thank our children in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
