Hamza Yusuf, Scotland’s new provincial premier, has been sworn in.

Joseph officially became Provincial Prime Minister of Scotland, and took the oath of office and allegiance to the King in the presence of the Chief Justice and Chief Justices, in a ceremony at the High Court of Scotland in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Hamza Yusuf, a 37-year-old Muslim of Pakistani descent, is expected to announce his new government today.

Hamza Yusuf, who was elected the new leader of the Scottish National Party, became Scotland’s first Muslim prime minister after a vote in parliament.

Hamza Yusuf’s mother, whose father was of Pakistani origin and immigrated to Scotland in the 1960s, was born in Kenya into a South Asian family.
