In a statement issued by the Civil Protection Department of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was reported that floods occurred in Konjic, in the south of the country, due to the heavy rains that were in force last night, and the high water level. in the Neretva and Trebizat rivers.
Indicating that flooding occurred in some regions of Konjic, it was reported that many homes were flooded in other cities in the south of the country.
In the capital, Sarajevo, it was noted that floods flooded the basements of some houses as a result of night rains, and the water level rose in the Miliaca River, which runs through the city center.
The Institute of Meteorology of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina warned that heavy rains will continue in the southern and southwestern parts of the country today.
While heavy rains in Serbia affected the city of Sjenica in the southwest of the country, it was reported that many homes were flooded as a result of the flooding of the Grabovica River.
Noting that it is still raining today, Goran Bozovic, Director of Water Works in Serbia, said that the water level in rivers in the south of the country has risen.
The Meteorological Union also warned citizens, stating that a “red alert” has been issued due to heavy rains and winds in the southern parts of Serbia.
