It will start tomorrow in the year 1445 AH.
The migration of the last Prophet Muhammad and his companions from Mecca to Medina 1445 years ago is considered the beginning of the Islamic calendar.
Announcing the beginning of Muharram, the crescent will be seen for the first time this evening from the south of the Asian continent, almost from the entire continent of Europe and the African continent.
Among the important traditions in Islamic societies are fasting in Muharram, cooking and distributing Ashura, and commemorating the grandson of the Prophet, Hussein, and those who were martyred in Karbala.
Ashura is celebrated on Friday, July 28, which falls on the tenth day of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic year.
