In his speech at the Future Prospects: Responsibility Conference, the leader of European liberals, Ilhan Kucuk, said: “The reasons for Bulgaria’s failures stem from the examples of Borisov and Petkov. The right path has not been found for two years and today we are talking about the Bulgarian scenario. A nation and a country that is fundamentally divided cannot It defends its foreign policy priorities. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) paid a heavy price for Bulgaria’s membership in the European Union and NATO and was the only political force that made it clear that it does not matter who rules, and in this case it is Bulgaria’s membership in Schengen and full integration. “We want that,” he said. This works to prevent Bulgarian citizens from feeling rejected and removes stigma from democracy and our society.”
Kuchuk touched on the collective leadership of the European Union and the consolidation of the union in times of crisis.
The MEP said: “Despite slow progress, the democratic model has proven to be much better because it has not led to war. Where society is involved, there will be debate with civil society, not war. The idea of peace is not outdated for the EU .
Yet, at the same time, has the collective leadership of the European Union stood the test of time and history to ensure peace and thus prosperity? For seven decades, Europe has been accustomed to living in a peaceful environment where prosperity reigns, democratic standards are high, and where it wants to reform itself and thus become a geopolitical factor in world affairs. But the European leadership made two mistakes, one of which was arrogance. Old Europe behaved in a monotonous manner for a long time and did not notice the breakthroughs made by other geopolitical factors. European leadership has been tested and failed.
Female activists from the MRF took part in the event, which brought together hundreds of women from all over Bulgaria. Among the speakers at the conference are MRF President Mustafa Karady, MRF Vice President Yordan Tsonev, Dr. Nigar Kafer, Emil Etim, Filiz Husminova, MPs Iskra Mihailova and Ates Aliyeva-Fili, Veleslava Kristeva, journalist Valeria Vilieva, and political scientist Dimitr Ganev.
