He stated that industrial production in Macedonia increased by 6.1% in May.

The State Statistics Institute announced that in May this year, industrial production increased by 6.1 percent compared to May last year, and the growth reached 1 percent in the period from January to May compared to last year.

In terms of sectors, industrial production increased by 8.6% in the mining and quarrying sector, by 5.3% in the manufacturing sector, and by 4.0% in the electricity supply, gas sector, steam and air conditioning sector in May 2024 compared to May 2022.

It is mentioned that the increase in the manufacturing industries sector is primarily the result of increased production in the following sections:

“Manufacture of beverages, manufacture of textiles, manufacture of basic pharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals, manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, manufacture of machinery and equipment not elsewhere specified, manufacture of automobiles, trailers and semi-trailers, and manufacture of furniture.”

According to major industry groups, production in May 2023 increased by 2.7% in energy, 7.2% in capital goods, 20.4% in permanent consumption, 15.2% in nondurable consumer goods, and 15% in intermediate goods, compared to May 2022. 2 increments.
