Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konakovich stated that he was honored to be among the countries that sent search and rescue teams to Turkey and said, “In all crises in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Turkish people have come first. We are always grateful for that.” He said.
Konakovich spoke at the joint press conference held after his meeting with Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at the Foreign Ministry.
Minister Konakovich, who started his speech by expressing his condolences to the Turkish people over the earthquake, said that his plans were actually to attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum and talk about bilateral relations, but that has changed due to the current situation.
Konakovich stressed that his country stands with great strength behind the Turkish people and state, saying:In all crises in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the people from Turkey came first. We are always grateful for that. There were major floods in 2014, many people lost their lives and it also caused financial losses. The first search and rescue teams came from Turkey and they gave us a lot of support.” He said.
Pointing out that he is honored to be among the countries that sent search and rescue teams to Turkey, Konakovich said that although it is not a country with a very developed and strong economy, Bosnia and Herzegovina shows that it is with the Turkish people and the state. .
Konakovich stated that they show the heart of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and noted that they want to help people financially as much as possible and this shows how dedicated they are to Turkey.
Explaining that he will go to Adana by plane and go to Hatay today, Minister Konakovich said that he wants to go to Kahramanmaraş and other earthquake-affected areas, but it is very difficult.

Pointing out that the EU membership candidacy process has started in Bosnia and Herzegovina and they are working on 14 articles, Konakovich noted that cultural relations from the East are also important apart from the EU and other Euro-Atlantic relations. .
