Speaking at the plenary session of parliament on behalf of the working group tasked with making changes to Kosovo’s general election law, Abelard Taheri stated that 92 out of 130 articles in the relevant law have been rewritten or completely redesigned.

In the draft general election law, 92 articles out of 130 were rewritten or completely rewritten, and the rest of the articles were amended. The bill, which consists of 21 parts, addressed the recommendations of the EU observation mission and the recommendations of the second phase, the parliamentary groups. “We have discussed 40 recommendations from the European Union regarding national elections,” Al-Tahri said, adding that in the electoral reform, the number of MPs voting for the Kosovo Assembly was increased from 5 to 10.

Taheri also mentioned that the diaspora vote in Kosovo is being organized on another level, stressing that the diaspora will now have the opportunity to vote in three ways.
