Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, at a press conference during his visit to Petrinje, assessed the war in Ukraine and said that there are similarities between Crimea and Kosovo.
Advocating the “annexation” of Kosovo along with international institutions, Milanović said, “Crimea will never be returned to Ukraine again. That’s what the German generals say.” He said.
Noting that Russia is a very dangerous country, Milanovic said, “A treaty-based war cannot be won against a nuclear superpower like Russia. Europe is endangered by hysteria and hatred.” He said.
Expressing the Ukrainians’ hatred of the Russians, Milanovic said, “The Croats didn’t hate the Serbs that much. Sending German tanks into Ukraine would make the Russians more attached to each other. Likewise in China. My job is to keep us away from it and prevent us from becoming circus animals. Any involvement in the war is a matter.” Too dangerous.” He said.
While Milanovic’s remarks sparked great reactions in Kosovo and Croatia, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said that his country recognizes Kosovo and that Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state.
