Kosovo President Fyoza Osmani bestowed honors on Kosovo Army personnel who took part in search and rescue efforts in the earthquake zone in Turkey.
In his speech at the ceremony, which was attended by the families of members of the Kosovo Security Force (FSK) known as the Army of Kosovo, and ambassadors of the two countries, President Osmani stated that FSK had proven its readiness not only to protect Kosovo’s borders, but also to help the countries.
“Ready not only to protect the country, but also to help friendly nations, our soldiers participate in search and rescue operations, work tirelessly to find survivors and provide assistance to the wounded.” Using his statements, Osmani noted that the army’s humanitarian efforts not only helped people, but also proved Kosovo’s ability to help friends.
“His work has shown that the army can not only protect our nation from external threats, but is also determined to provide support to friendly countries,” Osmani said.
Sabri Tuncenceli, the Turkish ambassador to Pristina, who was present at the ceremony, also thanked the Kosovo authorities for their assistance after the earthquake that hit his country, and said: “We are grateful to the people of Kosovo for the help they gave to our people.
