The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovačevski, delivered a speech at the beginning of the 16th meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council between the Republic of North Macedonia and the European Union, which started in Skopje today and is still ongoing.

In his speech here, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovačevski said: “After the many difficulties on the way to joining the European Union, last year the Republic of North Macedonia, with political courage, took a historic step and started accession negotiations, which marked the beginning of a qualitatively new stage in relations with the European Union.” . Pointing out that they signed the agreement with RONTEX in the Macedonian language, along with 24 other official languages ​​of the European Union, as the first such official agreement between North Macedonia and the European Union, which is a clear affirmation of identity protection, Kovačevski said, “This meeting of the Council has a historical dimension, because Stability and Partnership 22 years since the signing of the agreement and 17 years after receiving the candidate status, we are holding with the start of negotiations for North Macedonia’s membership in the European Union, as a member of NATO.
