European UnionSpecial Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Miroslav LajcakHe said the EU expects Belgrade and Pristina to focus on normalizing bilateral relations.

The EU Special Representative said: “For me, this was a relatively quiet week in Brussels and I had the opportunity to work on important documents to implement the agreements reached in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. Unfortunately, some of these events are troubling and we expect the parties to focus fully on normalization of relations. He said.
Noting that they met with Mattia Nemec, a member of the European Parliament, last week to discuss the prospects for advancing dialogue and other issues in the Western Balkans, Lajcak said he had fruitful telephone conversations with his partners in this field, which allowed him to better understand the developments and the atmosphere in northern Kosovo. He also said he had spoken with KFOR commander Maj. Gen. Angelo Michele Restuccia about security issues, including recent incidents at checkpoints.
Lajcak stated that his meeting with EULEX President Lars-Gunnar Wijmark focused on the issue of security, and they talked about the recent dialogue and the situation regarding the panels, the elections to be held in northern Kosovo and other developments, Tanjug reported.
