According to the new World Happiness Report by Gallup, a public opinion research institute, Macedonia is the unhappiest country in the Balkans.
According to the Institute’s World Happiness Report, Macedonia is ranked 87th out of 137 countries. Close to us in terms of happiness, Venezuela, Congo and Ukraine ranked 92nd. Among our Balkan neighbors, Albania ranked 83rd, Bulgaria 77th, Bosnia and Herzegovina 71st, Greece 58th, Serbia 45th and Kosovo 34th.
The report has been prepared on the basis of various studies conducted in countries. Six factors were taken into account, including freedom to make life choices, a healthy life expectancy, public generosity, public perception of corruption, social support provided by the state, GDP, and a factor called dystopia and resilience.
Separate tables also provided the degree and confidence rating for the mean life in the country.
Finland, Denmark and the other Baltic states or states in northern Europe remained the happiest countries in the world. Among them, Israel ranks fourth.
