Celebrations were held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, and in Novi Pazar, Serbia, marking May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
The Turkish Embassy in Zagreb organized a program by Jarun Lake to commemorate Atatürk on May 19, Youth and Sports Day.
Zagreb Ambassador Yavuz Selim Kiran expressed his happiness to celebrate May 19 with students in Croatia in a festive and beautiful way.
Pointing out that they helped young people get acquainted with Turkish tastes through the program they organized, Kiran pointed out that they increased physical activity and socialization.
The ceremony was also attended by archeology students of the University of Zagreb, Turkish students studying in Croatia, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Zagreb staff and staff working at the embassy.
– May 19 program in Serbia
On the other hand, the Turkish Cultural Center in the city of Novi Pazar in the Sanjak region, Serbia, celebrated the commemoration of Atatürk on May 19, and Youth and Sports Day, where Muslims are concentrated.
Pasar Paşol, Consul General of Turkey Novi Pazar, who participated in the program, stated that the cultural center is carrying out successful activities and Turkish courses are one of them.
Basul said that May 19 is a very important day for the Republic of Turkey, “The Turkish Cultural Center is very active in Novi Pazar. I am happy to participate in the event prepared by the participants of the Turkish Course, who presented their certificates.” He said.
The coordinator of the Novi Pazar Turkish Culture Center, Negra Mogović Šupljanin, indicated that they are teaching Turkish culture and history to young people who come to the Turkish course.
Certificates were also handed out to the students who participated in the Turkish course at the event.
