According to the statement released by the Bulgarian Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIR), Innovation and Growth Minister Aleksandar Bolev said the following about the completion of the first phase of signing project financing contracts with the first 2,552 Bulgarian companies to receive support under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan (PVU): “You will receive a total of 340 companies from Plovdiv Province (Plovdiv) have received support of more than 50 million BGN under the two measures of PVU through MIR so far.They will be granted grant support within the scope of the measures “Technological Modernization” and “Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Solutions and Cyber Security” that they have applied for the project.
Data announced by the European Union’s Directorate General of Competitiveness Funds (MIR) shows that the project applications of 145 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises operating in 15 of the 18 districts of Plovdiv Province have been approved. Within the scope of the “technological modernization” procedure, a total of 46 projects for the renewal of the technology park of enterprises located in the Plovdiv, Asenovgrad (Stanymaka), Kaloyanovo, Karlovo (Karliova), Krechem, Maritsa, Prvomay, Rakovski, Rodopi and Sadovo regions for the purchase of machinery or equipment have been implemented. or new programmes, and will be financed with 0.4 million leva. Minister Pulev drew attention to the fact that the protagonists of the project are Maritsa (22 companies), Rudube (12 companies) and Asenovgrad (10 companies), with the exception of the Plovdiv district center.
“A total of 260 million leva will be invested in the country within the scope of the procedure for all 953 companies that are entitled to receive support,” the minister said. He stressed that there is no administrative region in Bulgaria where there is no project application approved under the PVU.
Within the scope of the second action “ICT Solutions and Cybersecurity”, a total of 195 companies in Plovdiv County will be supported with BGN 3.7 million. The procedure does not require applicant companies to provide co-financing. They will be given support from 3,000 to 20,000 BGN for the purchase of software, information systems and cybersecurity systems that will improve management, production and logistics operations. With this money, they can also build corporate websites, mobile apps, online stores, digital marketing, online education programs, and more.
“A total of 1,599 applications have been approved for companies in the country,” Pulev said, noting that there is no administrative region without an approved project within the scope of this procedure.
The minister explained that within the scope of the “technological modernization” procedure, the final contracts for the project will be signed until the end of May, while the negotiation process is currently underway within the scope of the “information and communication technology solutions and cybersecurity” procedure. The first 750 companies whose applications were approved were invited to sign the project contract.
