In Nis, Serbia, search and rescue teams dressed in Santa Claus costumes hung from the roof of a children’s clinic and gave gifts to children who were receiving treatment.
The head of the specialized search and rescue department, Urus Smiljanik, stated that they realized the event in order to make the children who are being treated in the clinic happy, and said: “The smiles on the children’s faces are priceless.” He said.
Smiljanic stated that the search and rescue teams plan to distribute 350 gift packages by visiting clinics in cities all over Serbia.
The director of the children’s clinic, Zoran Perisic, said that gifts given to children at this time of the year have a special meaning.
