The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said he would go on a tour of the country to meet the public.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic assessed the agenda at the plenary meeting of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), which he chaired, which was held at the MTS Arena in the capital, Belgrade.
Announcing that he will go on a tour of Serbia, Vucic said: “I plan to go to 25 districts by the end of the year. I hope I can also go to northern Kosovo. As president, I am very happy to meet and talk to the compatriots.” He said.
Stating that he would go to places where no president had made a move since 1926, Vucic stated that he planned to visit municipalities next year.
In his assessment of the “People’s Movement for the State”, which is described as a new political formation that Vucic will establish, in the local press recently, President Vucic said:
This movement will gather under its umbrella not only SNS or other political parties, but also everyone who has nothing to do with politics but thinks about the interests of Serbia. This is important because we will exist at both poles, affected by various external factors on the political scene. We will only think of Serbia.”
Vucic noted that although the SNS is the “best party”, it has limitations on recruiting new members, and that important and valuable names from the “other” side are needed to get through tough times.
Vucic announced that he would convene the party council on May 27, and noted that the details of the creation of the “People’s Movement for the State” would also be discussed in the party council.
Vucic argued that new pressures would come from Kosovo, claiming that the Pristina administration wanted to pave the way for Serbia’s confrontation with NATO.
