The President of the Islamic Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein Kavazovic, said that they are with Turkey to treat the wounds of those affected by the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, which is described as the “disaster of the century”.
Speaking with Anadolu Agency, Kavazovic said: “There was a wonderful participation. This demonstrates our commitment to Turkey. We are deeply saddened by the devastating earthquakes.” He said.
Pointing out that they are in contact with the Turkish Embassy in Sarajevo, Kavazović said: “The Islamic Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina immediately allocated 150,000 euros in aid. Then we allocated another 100,000 euros to purchase the necessary materials. We also collected donations in mosques after Friday prayers.” He said.
Kavazovic said that the aid was sent in cooperation with the Directorate of Religious Affairs and stated that they are also concerned about the situation in Syria and that they are working to deliver aid there as well.
Kavazovic emphasized that the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina stand by their Turkish brothers, and said: “A strong Turkey means a strong Bosnia and Herzegovina. The tragedy that Turkey is experiencing means that it also happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina.” Use his statements.
