The International Economics Exhibition, which is being organized for the 24th time this year in the city of Mostar in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, has begun with the participation of high-level countries in the region.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, the Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borgana Cristo.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Plenkovic drew attention to the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina obtaining the status of a candidate country from the European Union, and emphasized that the convened forum is of great importance in this regard.

Pointing out that his country is one of the important economic and political partners of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Plenkovic said that the flights between Zagreb and Mostar, which will take place three times a week, will contribute to the relations between the two countries.

Plenkovic expressed that the Councils of Ministers of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina will hold a joint session in June, noting that this session is important for developing cooperation that will benefit all the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Serbian Prime Minister Brnabic also demanded that Bosnia and Herzegovina reconsider its participation in the “Open Balkans” initiative and said: “Countries including Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania are in the initiative. We will be happy if Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro participate. We are talking about an initiative where the borders will be opened and it will develop Economy “. He said.

Recalling that Serbia has been participating in the exhibition for 6 years without interruption, Brnabic wished to develop regional economic cooperation in the coming period.

Stating that the fair has become a symbol of the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, Kristo said, “We are not talking about a fair at the local level. It is an ever-growing event every year.” He said.

The exhibition director, Dalvina Bosanjak, said that Israel is a partner country and that important companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the exhibition.

The International Economics Fair in Mostar will continue until May 6 with the participation of more than 800 exhibitors from 30 countries.
