Balkans | The Bulgarian Supreme Muslim Council held an Iftar banquet

According to the statement made by the Mufti of Religious Affairs of Bulgarian Muslims, the Supreme Islamic Council organized an iftar banquet that brought together the chief mufti, regional muftis, senior muftis and diplomats around one table.

The special iftar guests are the chief mufti, Dr. Mustafa Haci and Aylin Itcuk, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Sofia.

Vedat Ahmed, the head of the Islamic Supreme Council, stated in his speech that Islam was born exactly in the month of Ramadan.

Vedat Ahmed said: “This is, in fact, the beginning of building a Muslim personality full of faith and good morals in Mecca, and building a Muslim society in Medina, characterized by justice, integrity and tolerance. Thus, the foundations of a new civilization and the first steps of individual and social change were laid.

The Supreme Islamic Council also spoke about the symbolism of the blessed month.

Vedat Ahmed said, “Ramadan gives us energy and motivation to undertake serious actions and strengthens our will to change. Fasting and other prayers increase our sensitivity to social problems and make us aware of our social responsibility.”
