The Serbian parliament dismissed Economy Minister Rade Basta, who said the country should impose sanctions on Russia.
In the vote of no confidence in the House of Representatives, 149 deputies supported Basta’s dismissal, while 45 deputies abstained from voting.
After a vote of no confidence, Basta was impeached on the grounds that he had made statements contrary to state and nation policy.
Prime Minister Ana Brnabić offered to sack Basta over his stance on Russia and his support for anti-government protests organized under the slogan “Serbia against violence” following the May armed attacks.
