After defeating Monaco 76-62 in the first leg of the THY Europa League Final Four semi-finals, Olympiacos advanced to the final.
In the first match of the Final Four held at the Zalgiriou Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania, Greek representative Olympiacos and French team Monaco faced each other.
Starting the game well and leading the first quarter 20-14, Monaco went into the locker room with a 41-29 advantage.
The second half started with a strong defense, Olympiacos led 43-41 with 14-0. The Greek team advanced by giving its opponent only two points in this quarter, 56-43 in the last quarter. Olympiacos dominated the match against their opponent, who cut the deficit to single digits again in the final quarter, winning Hall 76-62 and securing the final ticket.
Olympiacos will face the winner of the Barcelona-Real Madrid match in the final, which will be held on Sunday, May 21.
In the Greek delegate, Sasha Vyzenkov had 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists and Kostas Papanicolaou had 15 points and 8 rebounds. At Monaco, Mike James finished with 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, Eli Okubo with 17 points, 1 rebounds and 5 assists.
Olympiacos is chasing its fourth title
Olympiacos, which finished the regular season as the leader of the UEFA Champions League and reached the final by defeating Monaco, will be on the field for the fourth tournament in its history on Sunday.
The Greek actor, who knocked out Fenerbahçe-Beko at the play-off stage, wrote his name over the top in 1997, 2012 and 2013 in the number one FIBA Europe Cup at club level.
