In the campaign launched by the Islamic Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a donation of 3.5 million euros was collected for the victims of the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, which occurred on February 6, in Turkey and Syria.
At the press conference held under the chairmanship of the Islamic Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, the humanitarian aid efforts for those affected by the earthquakes that hit Kahramanmaraş were explained.
Mustafa Prljaca, Advisor to the President of the Islamic Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that as soon as they heard about the earthquakes in Turkey, it was decided to organize a relief campaign in mosques to help, and said that this was done through an unprecedented organization.
Noting that people showed great interest in the aid campaign, Prljaca said that citizens acted consciously to help those affected by the earthquake.
Mustafa Prljaca stated that they are also in talks with the Directorate of Religious Affairs of Turkey and Turkish institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina about how to distribute the money raised.
Ibrahim Malanovic, Head of the Social Affairs Department of the Islamic Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressed that they regret the situation in Turkey and Syria after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
Noting that they met urgently with the news of the earthquake, Malanovic said that the Islamic Union, in coordination with its entire organization in the field, mobilized to help the peoples of Turkey and Syria, with whom they are morally, familially and amicably connected. Kinship and those who do not forget themselves in their pain.
Noting that the charity, a charitable organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has sent a 20-truck aid convoy to Turkey, Ibrahim Malanovic said that fundraising efforts are continuing.
Malanovic shared the information that 3.5 million euros in aid has been collected through the Islamic Federation and thanked everyone who supports.
