Balkans | The memory of Mehmet Akif Ersoy was commemorated with gratitude and glory in Kosovo

Yesterday (27.12.2022) in Prizren, dear Mehmet Akif Ersoy, poet of independence, beautiful son of Kosovo, dear son of Ibkli Tahir Efendi, was commemorated with mercy and gratitude on his death anniversary.

It was organized on the 86th anniversary of the death of our independence poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy, in Kosovo-Prizren, hosted by the Mutrat Shiryazi Primary School in Prizren and with the participation of the Kosovo Turkish Writers Association and the Skopje Culture, Art and Education “Bridge” Association of writers, poets and artists.

The commemoration ceremony began with a minute of silence in memory of our national poet Mehmet Şakif Ersoy and the national anthem.

After that, the school continued to provide information about Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s life and works, samples of his poems, and a wonderful impartial presentation prepared by the teachers of the school, especially Esin Shantir and Neslihan Ramadan, and his students. The amazing program prepared by the students was highly appreciated by the audience and guests, and was praised for minutes.

The second part of the program is the co-chair of the Association of Turkish Writers in Kosovo and teacher of the Kosovo Institutes Yunus Emre Dr. It continued under the direction of Tanner Gutklotürk. Ismail Ceng Şen, Deputy Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Prizren, welcomed the guests first and delivered a valuable speech on the meaning and significance of the day.

Afterwards, Sedat Shkurti, Principal of the School, and Erol Kala, Deputy Principal, President of the Association of Turkish Teachers in Kosovo, welcomed the participants and expressed their pleasure and honor to host such a meaningful ceremony.

The 86th anniversary of the death of our poet of independence, Mehmet Akif Ersoy, was honored by the leader of the delegation representing Turkey, Kosovo, Colonel Recay Yilmaz, and the officers of the “Sultan Murat Barracks”. program with their participation.

After that, the Honorary President of the Turkish Writers Association of Kosovo, Iskender Mozbeg, and the President of the Association, Zenil Beksas, made a speech about the significance of the day, greeted the guests, and gave examples of Akif’s poems and his own poems.

Hüsrev Emin, President of the “Köprü” Association for Culture, Arts and Education and former President of MATUSITEB, who attended the ceremony from Skopje, made a welcome speech by emphasizing the meaning of the day and giving an example from his poetry.

The commemoration ceremony ended with a group photo commemoration to celebrate the day and the decision to commemorate the traditional memory of Mehmet Akif Ersoy in Kosovo from now on internationally.
