The “Turkish Month” activities start on July 7th in Karjali. The initiative will present a rich cultural, religious and creative programme.
Mayor Hasan Aziz, Regional Mufti Basri Eminifendi and Head of the Christian Community of Karjali Father Peter Garina visited the sister city of Karjali Municipality Edirne, at the invitation of Mayor Recep Gurkan.
Mayor Hasan Aziz said in a statement after the visit: “The main objective of our visit was to reaffirm the successful ethnic model in the city and to strengthen our excellent cooperation with Edirne Municipality.
The purpose of our visit was to invite the sister municipality to be an important part of the organization and realization of the Turkey Month in Karjali, and we have decided the event program that Edirne will participate in the initiative. We also commented on future joint projects between the two municipalities in various fields.
Our sister municipality, Edirne, will participate in the Turkey Month in Karjali with a concert of about 30 municipality members.
In line with our good cooperation, an exhibition of ceramic art will be opened, joint meetings will be held with business representatives in Kirkale and Edirne, and Turkish marbling art (water painting technique) will be shown in Kirkale.
The concert that the Trakya University Orchestra will give to all residents and guests of the city will be a gift to the people of Kardjali. The Trakya University Fine Arts Department will present an exhibition and the famous dervish dance will be held.
