Consul General Aykut Unal, who shared his views on the coup attempt carried out by members of the FETÖ terrorist organization 7 years ago and the epic victories achieved as a result of the reaction and courage of the Turkish nation against it, said the Turks of Western Thrace who always stood by their side and did not spare their support in difficult times. For their homeland Turkey, they thanked those who attended the Memorial Day.
In his speech, Consul General Aykut Onal referred to the following issues:
The treacherous coup attempt on July 15, which targeted democracy and the Turkish nation, was swept away by the struggle of the security forces, with the strength of the people and the love of the country and the nation in their hearts, to protect democracy and the nation. Management chosen by their will.
Today, on the seventh day to commemorate this struggle, we have come together on the occasion of July 15, Day of Democracy and National Unity.
Under the leadership of our President, the heroes of the Turkish Century said to “stop” the treacherous coup attempt and did not let the coup plotters pass.
In the face of those who have bombed our veteran assembly and opened fire on unarmed civilians, the great nation of Turkey has shown unparalleled heroism with its courage and determination, and has defended Turkish democracy at the cost of its life.
251 of our heroes who participated in this glorious resistance have reached the rank of martyrdom and more than two thousand of our heroes have been wounded.
The drafts hidden in honorable Turkish uniforms, fruitful of their victories in the past, cited the country’s civilian, military and police sons without batting an eye, and showed that they disregarded the will of the nation by targeting our veteran council.
They took their place in history as traitors who grew up to drag the country into chaos and sold their brains and brains to a madman.
Neither history will forgive them nor those who sympathize with them and those who justify and support them in any way.
As in all the hardships of the Motherland, we felt your support, our esteemed kinsmen, during the treacherous coup attempt.
The late Mustafa Cambaz, who was martyred with two bullets in the chest as a result of gunfire by the putschists in Istanbul-Cengelkoy, became a symbolic name for the position of the people of Western Thrace against the coup attempt.
