Hasan Baydemir, imam of the Uskudar Aziz Mahmud Huday Mosque in Istanbul, came third in the “International Hafiz Competition” held in Croatia.
The “International Hafiz Competition” was organized by the Association of the Croatian Islamic Federation (Mšhati).
25 grandchildren over the age of 35 from all over the world participated in the competition, which was held at the Rijeka Islamic Center from 11 to 13 May.
Dogan Yilmaz and Hasan Baydemir represented Turkey in the competition, which was held for the first time in the adult category over the age of 35 in Europe.
At the end of the evaluation of the jury members, Saudi Arabia ranked first, Morocco ranked second, and Turkey ranked third.
The Rijeka Islamic Center presented various gifts to the winners.
Hafez Osman Shaheen, Chairman of the Religious Affairs and Recitation Review Board, also participated in the competition jury.
