The judge arrested Faruk Fatih Ozer, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Thodex, who was brought in after the Albanian Ministry of Justice decided to extradite him.
Ozer, who was brought to the country on Thursday, April 20, following the decision of the Durach Court of Appeal in Albania, has completed his proceedings in the Anti-Cybercrime Branch of the Istanbul Police.
Ozer was transferred to the Court of Anatolia after his proceedings there.
It was learned that Ozer, who claimed he was not a fraud during the police proceedings and used his right to remain silent, will testify in court.
He stated that Ozer said that he did not have any money and that he distributed what he had to the owners.

Ozer, who was brought to the district attorney’s office, was taken to a duty criminal justice of the peace for arrest on charges of “establishing and managing an organization”, “parole fraud” and “laundering of property values”.

Faruk Fatih Ozer, whose statement was taken at the Anatolian Public Prosecutor’s Office in Istanbul, explained that he established a software company in Gebze in 2014, and that the field of activity of this company is the development of phone and web software.
Ozer went on to say that he had an interest in cryptocurrency during the period of his company’s activities, and that he started buying and selling cryptocurrencies through his personal account on global cryptocurrency exchanges:
“At this time, I thought I could add innovation to cryptocurrency exchanges in Turkey. I founded Koineks cryptocurrency exchange in 2017 by renting an office in Sisli, Istanbul. At the same time, my software company activities continued in Gebze. Ozer explained that the company’s transaction volume began to increase over time and for this reason he expanded his team, Ozer said, “I have hired people who work as software developers, social media specialists, customer support staff and HR staff in the company. The company Thodex that I founded is listed in the largest 3 cryptocurrency exchanges in Turkey in terms of transaction volume. And it continued its activities as a company. He said.

The Durach Court of Appeals upheld Ozer’s arrest decision on September 20.
On November 17, 2022, the Elbasan First Instance Court announced that the request of the Elbasan Public Prosecutor’s Office to allow Ozer to be extradited to Turkey was accepted. Ozer appealed this decision on December 7, 2022.
In the hearing held on December 30, 2022, in the Dheeraj Court of Appeal on this decision, the decision regarding the extradition of Ozer to Turkey was upheld.
Based on the said decision, Ozer was transferred to Istanbul by plane on Thursday, April 20.
