Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has denied allegations that Serbia will participate in the presidential elections in Montenegro.
Vucic said he congratulated Milatović after winning the election and told him he hoped bilateral relations would improve. “We acted seriously and responsibly. We do not interfere in the elections in Montenegro,” he said.
Milatović’s election victory, supported by the Montenegro-Serb parties, created great jubilation in Serbia.
Serbian newspapers on Monday covered the news with headlines like “Milatović wins: End of Djukanovic reign”, “Milo downfall” and “Jakov Milo retires”.
